Who Will Be My Instructor?

During the summer you will be able to study Korean with the same dynamic instructors that you work with during the Fall and Spring semesters. Each instructor brings their own unique personality, strengths, and expertise to the classroom to maximize your learning experience. With particular fields of interest ranging from social / (pop) cultural studies of North and South Korea to proficiency-oriented language instruction, you'll get the full range of the Korean language learning experience. Find out more about us here

Co- and Extra-Curricular Activities

Many students enroll in Korean language courses because of a favorite KPOP artist or Korean drama, others enroll because of a desire to be able to communicate with a Korean person in their life, and still more are drawn in by the irresistible Korean cuisine. During the summer, students can learn Korean with the group GOT7 or with the drama Goblin. Join your classmates on a trip to the Noraebang (노래방) or to one of the nearby Korean restaurants to practice what you're learning in class. You may even take part in the language exchange program and meet Korean students on the UMN campus. The highlight of the summer is our Korean Game Day where students of all levels and anyone interested in Korea can join us for traditional Korean games, food, music and fun in a casual setting where you can also practice speaking Korean and meet new people.
